Value Center Big & Tall

The link above will take you to their website (which I have never ordered from), but the real masterpiece is the store itself!  It’s a glorious thing to behold!  I’m telling you this is kind of thing you could plan a vacation around!  I think it should be required that all big people get their once in their life… It’s like Disneyland for fat people!

Everytime I go home to South Bend, IN, I always make the drive over to Value Center Big & Tall!  The store is located in Elkhart, IN.  Click here for Google Map!  

They buy all the “leftovers” from the Casual Male Group. Then they mark everything down to at least 50% of the original cost. Example: $100 in the catalog = $50 at Value Center

Here’s a few of my favorite things about the store…

The store has wide aisles for my big butt to walk through
They have dressing rooms that I can actually move in
The staff isn’t just a bunch of skinny women (Casual Male)
The discounts are amazing!
They have a bargain basement with new clothes priced like Goodwill!
They have like everything imaginable!
They go up to like 10X, so while I’m there I feel skinny!
The staff and owner are really friendly!

    So, if you’re ever anywhere near Elkhart, IN you’ve got to stop in @ Value Center Big & Tall!

    Goodwill, Salvation Army, & Savers are cool places, but don’t go there expecting to find a ton of big guy clothes.  It’s been my experience that when it comes to big man clothes @ second-hand shops… they’re pretty much non-existent.  I don’t think it’s because fat people are stingy or hoarders.  I think they’re strategic and realistic.  

    This is my theory… There isn’t much plus-size clothing @ Goodwill because big guys keep all their clothes!

    I’m not entirely sure why we don’t donate old clothes to second-hand shops, but I’m thinking it’s because  we like to have a collection of clothes in each size.  Personally, my weight fluctuates so I seriously have clothes in a few different sizes. 

    • If I lose weight, I like to keep the bigger clothes – just in case I re-gain the pounds.
    • If I gain weight, you know I’m keep the clothes… cause I’m determined to fit back in them one day.

    Also, I think a major factor is how expensive our clothes are.  When I pay $30 for a shirt.. I don’t want to just give that away. Even if it doesn’t fit right or is getting old. 

    Now, don’t get me wrong.  I donate old clothes… just not that often.  I have a closet full of stuff I don’t wear, but hope to one day fit in them again!

    This is just my theory. Anyone else have any ideas as to why there is a lack of Big & Tall clothing at Goodwill?
